On Being a Leader

A leader is a person who leads. It does not matter how many person this leader succeeds in leading. Even if it is just one human being who follows the footstep of another, you should consider that individual to be a leader.

How does one person succeed in influencing thousands? How does another fail to make an impression to the minds of the other? The major quality which turns a person into a leader is the ability to visualize. Vision is the most important quality. The leader should have the capability to plan ahead of others. The leadership does not limit to visualizing only. The leader should make the team see the same vision and follow the path leading to it.

If you think that a leader is required in the battle field only, you are making a mistake. Every profession has got the need for a leader. A physician is a leader in the operation room or when an emergency occurs. The physician holds the power of make the decision of life and death. To use this power successfully, the physician should have the qualities of a leader.

Most of the people think that because they are in some specialized field they do not need leadership training. However, this is not true. While leading a team of surgeon in an operating room or guiding some wide eyed fresher, straight out of medical college, you will have to have the quality to make them understand your vision and look at the world through your eyes.

Getting a Clear Idea about Team Building Workshops

Do you think that the lack of coordination amongst employees is hampering your business prospect? Are you trying to find a solution for this? Before you choose a workshop for team building, it is necessary to clarify the basics. Your definition of a team is a determining factor in your approach towards the objective.

Team building workshop

Not all groups of individuals are able to become a team, even when they report to the same individual. It is only possible if that group works together towards achieving a common goal. The first step in building a team is to identify the objective of the team and make it clear for the team members as well.

The nest step involves finding out the hindrances that exist in building a good team. Here are a few common problems that you may come across.

Ø      Low levels of cooperation; high levels of conflicts

Ø      Lack of communication – no openness or willingness to confront issues

Ø      Improper leadership (team lead must realize that others are equals, and not slaves)

Ø      Difficulty in development – as individuals and as a group

Ø      Improper working methods hindering progress

Team workshops need to have a plan of action suitable to overcome these hindrances. For example, if lack of communication is the problem, you need a workshop that aims at breaking the ice between individuals trying to work as a team, or across different departments and functions.

Implementing the plan is the next task. Make sure this is more interactive than educative. Lectures are not very suitable for executives and managers, they have to endure these at office meetings anyway! Opt for fun or adventurous activities, games and outings, and so on to help individuals bond with each other.

Note: Sometimes, the problem between certain individuals is too serious to sort out with such methods. You may need the help of trained consultants for handling this.

It is essential to monitor the progress of the workshop with proper methods. Opt for workshops that offer you this option too. Choosing the right team building program can help enhance productivity and lessen employee problems. Choose carefully, and avail all the benefits.

How Does Stages of Development Influence Education of A Child?

A human being has to undergo various stages of development in his entire life time. These stages of development are divided on the basis of development pattern of an individual on the basis of their age.

There are generally four stages of development in a man’s life. These are childhood, adolescent, adult, and death. These stages influence the education resources of an individual to a great extent. The way an individual is going to react to the changing educational developments, entirely depends upon their growth pattern.

Stages of Development Are Directly Proportional To Educational Development!

Child Development And Education

Childhood and Adolescent- the Foundation Stage for Education:

Childhood (birth to puberty): This is the earliest stage of growth. This stage begins when a newborn takes birth, and it continues till they reach puberty. This is the elementary learning age of the child. The process of learning begins right from the first movement they make.  Motor skills, speech development, intelligence, and early school education all are provided to the child during this stage.

Adolescence (13-19 years): This stage accounts for the higher studies of the person. The way an individual has been educated in his initial stage is greatly responsible for how they will react to education in this stage. If the educational base of the child is strong, they will grow up to be intelligent and well educated.

The above stages are the stepping stones for the educational growth and development of an individual. For details refer education guide.

Why Do Achievers Need Life Coaches

Do you believe life coaching is just another new age fad, that too in the midst of your professional career or personal life stage? Alternatively, you may feel it will quickly fade away. On the other hand there are individuals too who honestly feel need of life coaches to reach their goals. There is lots of confusion about the life coaching solutions too. Whether you see an engineer, attorney, pro athlete, or teacher, hardly any of them know or understand the duties of a life coach.

What we can sum up from this observation? Can’t these individuals perform harder work themselves? This is a very common scepticism as reported from the individuals who already reached to the tip of their professional and personal goals. For them achieving the best reward and the ladder of success was never an issue. There were some mechanisms like ability to set goals, resource analysis, routine based strategies set in place that made their success a reality.

Still what made these achievers cynical about their self-confidence?

Reason is, these individuals were taught certain necessary skills in spite of having their own in-born qualities. For these achievers, observation skills, analyzing ability, behavior modifications and assessment capability everything come so naturally and automatically that is out of our common horizon. Nevertheless, one major problem persists with them. Most of them can’t realize their inner potentials and possibilities themselves.

There is a very popular argument on the evolution story of skills and performance, whether these are biological components or learnt by practice. Actually, for most of the individuals it remains unconscious only. So it becomes difficult for them to understand the process of nourishing the same skills and apply these in their job, relationships, finances or any other work.

Life coaches differ in their approaches and application tools. So, if you feel that certain approach of personal development is not working for you, it is up to you to realize why it is or so. Try out a new approach most suitable to you. Degree of success also depends on your acceptability and intellects.
